Aussie Better Blinds Pty Ltd prides itself on constructing and installing high quality products using the best materials and components available.
In all cases Aussie Better Blinds Pty Ltd will repair defective products within the prescribed warranty period (at the discretion of Aussie Better Blinds Pty Ltd) at no cost to the customer. Travel and labour charges may apply.
Warranties will only be provided if products are serviced in line with a maintenance schedule. This maintenance schedule varies due to the Environment in which the product has been installed.
Therefore, this Warranty must be read in conjunction with the Environment Definition Guidelines.
Environmental Risk Profile Definitions:
Minor: Being mainly low-density housing. Low density housing is large detached homes on large residential blocks. These types of homes are often (but not always) found in rural residential areas where the housing density is low. Minor risk environments must also be greater than 10km from the coasts or heavy industrial areas, urban development (building and/or civil works) and protected from wind.
Medium: Being mainly (but not exclusively) high and medium density housing in urban housing. 5km from the coasts or heavy industrial areas, urban development (building and/or civil works) and protected from wind.
High: Being mainly coastal locations less than 5km from the coasts or heavy industrial areas, urban development (building and/or civil works) and/or exposed to wind. High risk environments also include exposed locations (which can be inland) for example buildings built on hill tops that are exposed to high winds, or remote locations that are exposed to dust/dirt deposited from surrounding environments.
All Commercial installations will be classed as High-Risk Environments. (Limited Warranties apply to all products installed in High-risk Environments)
Please be aware that the Environmental Risk Profile can change over time, for example Minor can be escalated to Medium or High Risk due to changes in the surrounding areas, for example urban development (building and/or civil works) or tree removal exposes products to higher wind.
Maintenance Intervals for OUTDOOR Products:
(see below for individual product maintenance)
Minor: Every 6 months
Medium: Every 3 months
High: Every month, some Maintenance will need to be carried out every 2 weeks. (especially in locations less than 5km from the coasts or heavy industrial areas)
Maintenance Interval for INDOOR Products:
(see below for individual product maintenance)
Minor: 12 monthly for standard use environments (such as products mounted in bedrooms, typically operated in a full cycle (up and down) once per day)
Medium: 6 monthly for high use environments (such as products mounted over doorways that are operated multiple times per day)
High: 3 monthly Commercial Applications – (Limited Warranties apply to all products installed in commercial applications)

Ziptrak® and ZipScreen®
Since Ziptrak® and ZipScreen® Awnings are typically installed outside, general cleaning and maintenance is required.
Fabric: Should be cleaned as follows:
This process should occur at least once in your applicable Maintenance Interval.
Clear and tinted PVC:
- Rinse PVC with fresh water to remove loose dirt and debris, spray with hose or bucket only, DO NOT use a high pressure washer.
- PVC should be wiped with damp microfibre cloth to remove additional grime
- Aussie Better Blinds Pty Ltd only recommends cleaning PVC with the following three PVC Cleaners: VuPlex®, Plexus® or Swiftee® (these can be purchased from Aussie Better Blinds and other hardware stores)
- Clean as per instructions on bottle/can.
*It is very important to clean PVC with a clean microfibre cloth that is completely free of debris.
- Allow PVC to dry completely before retracting Awning
Acrylic Fabric:
- Rinse Fabric with fresh water to remove loose dirt and debris, spray with hose or bucket only, DO NOT use a high pressure washer.
- Prepare a mixture of cold to lukewarm water (do not exceed 38°C) and mild liquid soap. (such as laundry detergent)
- Rub in mixture with a soft brush and allow the mixture to thoroughly soak into the fabric.
- Rinse well with water.
- Allow Fabric to dry completely before retracting Awning
- If waterproofing is required, apply 3M Scotchgard®. Take care to follow instructions on the bottle/can
- Allow Fabric to dry completely before retracting Awning
Splines:
Clean and lubricate This process should occur at least once in your applicable Maintenance Interval.
- Rinse Spline during the fabric cleaning process
- A soft bristle brush can be used to remove dirt and debris caught in the tracking
- Allow Spline to dry completely
- Apply ‘food grade’ Silicon Spray (such as Helmar® H4000 Silicon Spray) onto the spline, aiming the applicator into the groove that retains the Ziptrak® and ZipScreen® Spline. *It is intended that the powder coated aluminium channel is coated with silicon spray during this step.
- Both inside and outside should be cleaned and lubricated
- *ONLY SILICON SPRAY should be used as the lubricant. Other oil-based lubricants (such as WD-40® and RP7®) will damage the spline and void the warranty.
- Silicon Spray can be purchased from Aussie Better Blinds and other hardware stores
Painted and Powder Coated Products:
This process should occur at least once in your applicable Maintenance Interval.
- Carefully remove any loose surface deposits with a wet sponge.
- Use a soft brush (non-abrasive) and a dilute solution of a mild detergent, e.g., pH-neutral liquid hand dishwashing detergent in warm water
- DO NOT use solvents to remove dust, salt and other deposits.
- Ensure you thoroughly rinse the surfaces with clean fresh water after cleaning to remove all residues.

Warranties:
- Warranty must be read in conjunction with Environmental Risk Profile Definitions and Maintenance Intervals
- Ziptrak® and ZipScreen® awnings are designed to look best in either the raised or fully lowered positions. Ziptrak® and ZipScreen® awnings can be left at other heights (i.e. ½ or ¾ down) without issue. However, it is important to note:
- Due to the differential between the thickness of the side spline and the thickness of the fabric (when being rolled up around the top roller) the blind will look baggy/loose in intermediate positions.
- This baggy/loose appearance will be more evident in larger blinds
- The longer a Ziptrak® and ZipScreen® is left in an intermediate position, the longer it will take to flatten out when pulled closed – warm weather will help the fabric flatten faster
- *Since the aforementioned occurrence is standard for all Ziptrak® and ZipScreen® Awnings, warranty claims cannot be authorised for baggy/loose fabric.
- Aluminium Extrusions and Headboxes – 5 years
- AC Motors – Acmeda Motors 7 year replacement warranty
- DC Motors, Batteries, Solar Panels and Remotes – 12 months

Canvas fabric:
- Canvas awnings should be cleaned particularly because air pollutants, dirt and grime can become embedded within the fabric interstices.
- Canvas should be kept clean by brushing dry fabric regularly with a soft brush/broom.
- Hose with cold water, but do not combine the actions of brushing and hosing as this may abrade coating and impart a scuffed appearance to the fabric once dry.
- Do not allow bird droppings, earth, sand or vegetable matter to remain in contact with the canvas.
- Do not apply soaps, detergents, cleaning fluids or insecticides
- Keep petrol, kerosene or other similar fluids away from the canvas
- Retractable awnings should not be rolled up when wet.

Warranties:
- Warranty must be read in conjunction with Maintenance Intervals for Internal Products
- Roller Blinds exceeding 2m in width may be subjected to slight fabric ripples commonly known as V’ing. The V’ing is typically noticed as a slight ‘V’ in the fabric starting from a point near the mounting brackets and extending towards the bottom bar. The occurrence of the V’ing is created by deflection of the top tube when spanning distances greater than 2m. This V’ing will be more noticeable when looking across fabrics rather than straight on. Increasing the top tube size can help but, in many cases, will not eliminate the V’ing. Since all roller blinds are affected by this trait, it is viewed as acceptable to have some degree of V’ing and therefore is not a warrantable issue.
